IMP Trainer Kite

The Ozone IMP 3-line Trainer Kite is the ultimate kite to enter the sport of kiting safely. It is available in 1.5m, 2.5m and 3.5m sizes.

Designed to bring out the snowkiter or kitesurfer within everyone, the IMP Trainer Kite is responsive, smooth and stable with just enough power to ensure you will be ready to progress safely and with ease.

Our unique 3-line Safety System with Safety Leash guarantees safe, easy re-launch and gives you the ability to land the Trainer kite by yourself. If you feel too much power or are ever unsure all you have to do is let go of the bar and the IMP Trainer will land automatically and wait for you until you re-launch it again.

We recommend the 2.5 m for the best balance of performance and power - go smaller in high wind locations and choose a bigger size in light wind areas.

Young children should use the 1.5m size and in winds less than 10 knots and always be under careful adult supervision.

“What I wanted to do was make a kite that has the speed of a high performance kite, the stability of a beginner kite and handles like a sports car. I have been talking with our paragliding designers and they have shared their new theories which have been helping them produce the highest performing paraglider to date!

I have reduced the line drag to a minimum with extensive use of diagonals. I worked on the sail tension to maintain a clean leading edge. The section I have chosen produces good speed and it’s very stable. The aspect ratio is 4.2 which means it is not over stretched and keeps it compact with a solid feeling. When we were out testing the Method was only just behind the Yakuza and in strong conditions on small sizes the Method was a real contender. I prefer the Method for my style of riding, I am not a racer but I like to go fast and have good up wind ability without having to concentrate on the kite all the time.

My top speeds were about the same as the Yakuza but I was getting there slower. Having said that going round a mark fast is easy because on the Method you can just flick the kite around without needing to be precise on the controls. The other great aspect is that just about anyone with four line handle experience can fly this kite, it’s just easy and feels smooth and solid. It’s not designed to be a race winner but you would have fun trying and you would not be far off the pace!

Another great thing is that the Method flies exceptionally well with the Ozone Turbo bar, making it an excellent option for a performance landboarding kite, or for riders who prefer to use a bar.”

A quel rider est-elle destinée?

La Yakuza est conçue pour les riders à la recherche de performances absolues. La Yakuza originale devient désormais la Yakuza GT qui a été développé par lensemble de léquipe.

Ozone a travaillé étroitement avec lensemble des pilotes de buggy du team comprenant le champion du monde ainsi que la plupart des champion nationaux afin de concevoir la nouvelle référence en terme de kite de course. Le processus de conception dun kite de haut aspect ratio comme la Yakuza GT est très complexe; un kite de course a besoin de performances dans nimporte quelle conditions, en remontée au vent, en vent arrière, peu importe la direction le but est daller le plus vite possible avec un maximum de stabilité. Si vous voulez être le plus rapide ou avoir le kite le plus puissant dans votre quiver la Yakuza GT est faite pour vous.

Durant la saison 2008 le champion du monde et 5 fois champion dAllemagne Björn Krautschick, a utilisé les prototypes de Yakuza GT ce qui lui a permis de gagner encore une fois. La Yakuza GT lui a donné un net avantage contre les autres riders ; Imaginez vous : dans une course il est partis en retard et en dernière position mais équipé de la GT. Quelque mètres avant larrivée après avoir remonté lensemble des concurrents, il dépasse pour finir le pilotes en tête de la course depuis le début et remporte ainsi la manche. Björn a dit après cette course, que le kite permet de remonter au vent comme jamais et trés rapidement ce qui lui a permis de tout remonter et de gagner la course.
