Today's trollosophers do not believe that Puffing Trolls exist any more, but many, many years ago when trolls were still to be found in Denmark, it was common knowledge that if you fell and hurt yourself, you simply puffed at a troll and the pain stopped immediately.

It is very important that the troll is given a name by the family with whom the troll comes to live. Younger members of the family are often the best at finding names for trolls. Flensted Mobile Bauhaus Mobile 32,50 €

In co-operation with the Bauhaus Museum Flensted Mobiles have created this new mobile.

Primary shapes and colours are present: circle, square and triangle the Bauhaus code. According to Kandinsky, the circle expressed the highest tension and elasticity, a characteristic which he linked with blue, which emits the most intense level of cold. The square, like red, radiates complete tranquillity and has the effect of a cool warmth. The triangle instead represents a tranquil aspiration from the terrestrial to the heavenly. Like yellow, it emanates a powerful force and the greatest warmth. These principles have been used by Ole Flensted in designing this mobile.

The suspended lightness of a mobile is particularly appropriate for appreciating the psychological effects of shapes and colours. By juxtaposing the three components in different combinations, the Bauhaus enthusiast and the mobile collector can experience a variety of effect and themselves take part in Kandinskys research on the phenomenon of colour! Kandinsky made a research among his students in 1923 they were to match the primary shapes to primary colours and they produced the same results.

Flensted Mobile Fluxus Mobile 11,40 €

In co-operation with the April 2008 opened Fluxus+ museum in Potsdam (near Berlin), we have developed this colourful mobile.

The Fluxus group first manifested itself in concerts in Germany and Denmark in the early 1960s. Its central figure was Emmett Williams, a poet and writer who was eager to explore new possibilities of presenting poetry and expanding the horizons of music and visual art. The mobile features the funny "Little Men" which appear in many of Emmett's works. In his own words, these were "ever present doodles dancing in and out of a kind of automatic drawing", so they seemed wholly appropriate for a mobile to encourage thoughts to wander and ideas to generate.

You can customise the mobile by hanging a small item which has some particular interest or personal significance from the peg in middle of the mobile.
